It is a little hokey but my daughter Stephanie ordered it because in Chapter XIII NAPOLEON AMERICAN SON Page 235 it chronicles my maternal great grandfather, John Gorden. He was reputed to be Napoleons son.

The photos in the book sure looks like him. The story we heard, and the book verifies, is that Napoleon had a son while on St. Helena. The mother was French, she gave the baby to the housekeeper/matron who went to England. She married or was married to an English watchmaker who gave John his name and raised him.

Johns age belies the myth since Napoleon died a few years before. However, we were interested in a book with this story. Of course, the whole book is about Napoleon descendants in America and his fellow soldiers.
